Terms of Service

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Actor Desk ("the app") is operated by Kaushal Patel ("I", "me"). By using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

What the app is

Actor Desk is a record-keeping tool for actors. It lets you log auditions, track costs and earnings, record agent submissions, and export your records.

It is not tax, legal, financial, or career advice. The app organises information you enter and performs arithmetic on it — including applying published IRS mileage rates to miles you record. It does not decide what is deductible, how income should be categorised, or what you owe. Those judgements belong to you and your accountant. Exports are working records to hand to a professional, not completed tax filings.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Tell me promptly if you think someone else has access.

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. The app can't verify whether a mileage figure or an earning amount is correct.

Subscriptions

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are currently sold in the United States only; elsewhere the app's free features remain available.

Pricing. $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year, in US dollars, as shown in the app at the time of purchase. Prices may change; any change applies to future billing periods, not to a period you've already paid for.

Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by me. Requests go through Apple.

Acceptable use

Don't use the app to break the law, to store content you have no right to store, or to attempt to access another user's data. Don't try to circumvent the subscription, reverse-engineer the app, or interfere with its operation.

Your content

What you enter stays yours. I claim no ownership of your records. I access account data only as needed to operate the service or to respond to a support request you've made.

Availability

I try to keep the app working, but I can't promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and parts of the app depend on third-party services outside my control.

Keep your own backups of anything you can't afford to lose. The CSV export exists for exactly this. Records held only in the app are not a substitute for your own records.

Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings. I may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms.

Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or tax penalties arising from your use of the app. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Apple

These terms are between you and me, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top will be updated when they do. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
